Occupational Therapy for Adults DoodleOccupational Therapy for AdultsEmerge, while primarily serving the pediatric population, does provide adult services. Increasingly we find adults who are recognizing that some of their challenges are related to differences in sensory processing, and we are here to serve those clients. While a young brain has more plasticity than an older brain, research is showing that the brain is capable of making changes at all ages. Sensory processing challenges can impact a person’s participation, coping strategies, and their overall quality of life (Parham, Chang & Mallinson, 2014) so it is never too late to get started.

Adult services at Emerge typically begin with a consultation with one of our occupational therapists, followed by either direct treatment, and/or recommendations for home programs and accommodations.
