Welcome to the Emerge Specialized Summer Programs.  The summer programs are an opportunity for children to receive a more intensive therapy experience, in a small group setting, for less cost.  The programs are open to both children who are current Emerge clients as well as those who are not.  Please click the links in the navigation bar for detailed information and registration forms.  Feel free to call our office if you have further questions.  Early registration is recommended as our summer programs tend to fill quickly.
 
Capable Kindergarteners and Ready Writers, are popular programs that Emerge has offered since its inception.  These programs are designed for children who will be attending typical classrooms who need help developing fine and visual motor skills. We have added Fabulous Formers which is geared to children who are learning how to form letters.  Ready Writers includes more of a focus on writing sentences, line placement and spacing.
 
Staying Cool is designed for children with anxiety and has been very well received.  We have revised the program this year to meet twice a week for two four week blocks.  Having a consistent group of children for a longer period of time will offer greater opportunities for building effective coping skills.  Staying Cool is a unique partnership between an Occupational Therapist and a Children's Yoga instructor.
 
Our two newest summer programs:  Preschool Power and Recipe For Fun are collaborations between Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy.  They will both include a strong language and social component and are appropriate for children with mild to moderate speech and/or language delays, Asperger's Syndrome or high functioning autism, sensory processing or sensory integration disorders, and/or mild developmental delays.
